Nature guiding

Don’t let the skyscrapers and highways fool you. There is surprisingly much to see in the few precious wild places left in Singapore. I have had experience in guiding people from all walks of life - schoolgroups, families, senior citizens, tourists and sightseers, visiting researchers, photographers and artists, and groups from the government and private sectors. Fear not if you are an urbanite - I’ll always cater the walks to meet your needs and interests.

Places

Here is a list of recommended places you may want to visit. This list is not exhaustive; feel free to ask if you have anyplace else in mind!

I’d be more than happy to cover two areas in a day - subject to compatability of choices.

  • Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve
  • Kranji Nature Trail
  • Singapore Botanic Gardens
  • Bukit Timah Nature Reserve
  • Labrador Park
  • Kent Ridge Park
  • Central Catchment Nature Reserves
  • Pulau Ubin
  • East Coast Park
  • Sentosa

Check out the parks and reserves listed on the National Parks Board for more details.

Rates

When guiding in the capacity of a licensed tourist guide, I go by reasonable and competitive rates. Tours are flexible, as are the rates, depending on the type of tour requested; a portion of the fees will be donated to local conservation funds.

You may be pleased to know that Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve, among other places, offers free public guided walks on Saturdays. I do conduct free walks at the Reserve on certain weekends for walk-in visitors; all pre-booked tours, however, will incur a small fee.
